Explanatory note

It is becoming more and more tedious and dull having to explain the meaning of the band's name to all our fans (both of them), so here is the definitive anecdote behind "Mauve La Biche".

the band was sitting in the library one day and we were trying to find a name to best describe our band. (We though "Crap" was a bit rude.) After hours, nay days, nay weeks of discussion (well, extreme violence) without food or beer for periods of over two minutes or more at a time, we eventually were blinded by a momentous flash of sublime inspiration. But we forgot what it was. So instead we listed our favourite colours. Two of us spontaneously shouted out "Mauve" literally within hours of each other, and so we kept Mauve as the final decision, 'cause we were tired and wanted to go home. The first book with a Mauve spine we saw was about a playwright called "Labiche", so in a moment of absolute cunning and superhuman ingenuity we separated his name into "La" and "Biche". Clever eh?

And that's why we're called "Mauve La Biche".
